at the Botanical Center

Awards

There will be First, Second, and Third place awards in each category (Junior, Teen, General Public, Photography Club Members).

There will be a Best in Show Award.

Hunt’s Photo will provide awards for First Place, Second Place and Best in Show.

  • One First Place Award in Each Category: $100 Hunt’s gift card.
  • Two Second Place Awards in Each Category: $50 Hunt’s gift card.
  • Three Third Place Awards in Each Category: $25 gift certificates from area merchants.

  • Best in Show Award: An interchangeable lens camera or a $500 Hunt’s gift card.

The following three awards are sponsored by the Rhode Island Horticultural Society. Winners in each category will be awarded a pair of tickets to the 2015 Rhode Island Spring Flower and Garden Show held at the Convention Center February 19-22.

  • Best Photo of a Perennial
  • Best Photo of a Tree
  • Best Photo of a Tropical Plant

The following award is sponsored by URI Master Gardener Mitch Williams in memory of his niece Lauren Costa and cousin Alan Costa. Special consideration will be given to contestants under the age of 19. 

  • Best Photo of an Insect

The winner in the following category will be awarded an orchid by the Rhode Island Orchid Society in memory of Richard Kenyon:

  • Best Creative Use of Lighting

The winners in these two categories will be awarded a $50 gift certificate by Crestar Framing in East Greenwich, RI

  • Best photo in black and white
  • Best photo of the Conservatory's architecture

Hidden Gardens in Barrington RI will award a $25 gift certificate for:

  • Best Photo of the Botanical Center's Rose Maze

Cranesbill Nursery in Swansea MA will award a $25 gift certificate for:

  • Best Photo of a rose
